The CADD Support section is responsible for providing technical support for all of the department’s CADD related software packages. Services are provided on a statewide basis to all divisions within the Engineering Directorate as well as to consultants and contractors. Job Duties
VDOT’s Location and Design (L&D) Division has an employment opportunity for a key team member in our Design Technology Resources Program (formerly known as CADD Support). This important position is responsible for providing technical support for CADD training, Construction advertisements and website development and enhancements for several agency sections.
Duties include, but are not limited to: Organizing, coordinating, and scheduling CADD training for both internal and external personnel. Creating and updating agency diagrams utilizing Visio. Connect CABB to ProjectWise. Create, update, and maintain training documentation and videos. Coordinating with other technical resources and expert staff to resolve hardware, software, or system issues; assisting with maintaining and updating the CADD User’s Manual and CADD standards. Providing assistance with scheduling of all CADD related training; providing software licenses to private sector consulting firms and maintaining the license database; contacting vendors as needed to report system malfunctions; and interacting with IT staff to enhance program objectives and product deliverables. The selected candidate will also be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing innovative technologies and methods to enhance our operations and computer systems.

This position requires a fingerprint based Criminal History Background Check, DMV Record Check and Work History Verification with references.
VDOT is an emergency operation agency. Positions physically working within Central Office locations may be designated upon request and coordination among the respective District Engineer or Administrator and Chief. Assignments are updated annually.
VDOT utilizes a market-based pay program, which has been approved by DHRM. Therefore, advertised rates of pay may or may not align with the Commonwealth pay bands. Salary negotiations cannot exceed the posted salary range.
