Norfolk State University’s Parking Services seeks a Security Officer lll to assist with campus parking enforcement. The successful candidate will: 1. Identify vehicles in violation of university parking codes. 2. Issue parking Citations, install wheel-locks, and provide motorist assistance. 3. assist with special Events to include planning and coordinating placement of cones and reserve spaces for large and small events, daily and on weekends. 4. Ensure all lots are monitored daily for potholes or for posted signs in need of repair. 5. Assists costumers with basic account information such as account balance and permit activity. Ability to Work the front office to include writing passes, answering the phone and some office work. 6. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Displays a positive attitude and communicates well with students, staff, and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications 1. Demonstrated the ability to install some parking signage. 2. Demonstrated ability to enter and retrieve information pertaining to vehicle registration, identification and status, using the handheld computer system. 3. Demonstrated ability to ensures the accuracy of information and citations entered into the mobile app and provides pictures of parking violations. 4. Considerable experience in customers Service to the NSU Community and Visitors 5. Demonstrated ability to work under all weather conditions: walk, stand, and lift 10lbs. 6. demonstrated ability to work rotating shifts to include day, night, weekends, and some holidays. 7. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times. Displays a positive attitude and communicates well with students, staff, and the general public. 8. Considerable experience in the security field required. 9. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of training and education that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. 10. Work all special events. 11. Assist with special events to include planning and coordinating placement of cones and reserve spaces for large or small events, daily and on weekends. 12. Assist the ticket writers when staff shortage occurs. 13. work the gate when needed. 14. Must have valid Driver's license and a good driving record 15. the ability to work the front desk to include answering the phone and writing parking passes. 16. Good computer skills required and the use of Microsoft office. 17. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 18. The Ability to work independently and take the appropriate action with minimum supervision.
