Job Description

The School of Neuroscience at Virginia Tech is seeking applications for teaching faculty positions at the instructor rank to begin August 2025. Duties will include teaching undergraduate courses and laboratories in neuroscience.

Instructors have a primary commitment to the instructional mission of the department, with a primary focus on undergraduate teaching, curricular and program development, and the design and integration of innovative and inclusive pedagogy.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a PhD is neuroscience or a closely related discipline, with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of courses related to neuroscience.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching experience as lead instructor in a university or college, especially in neuroscience undergraduate courses.  

Documented record of outstanding teaching effectiveness.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
