Job Description

The Southeast Regional COPE Coordinator will work with schools and local community organizations and community members to expand the Mental Health First Aid and Botvin Lifeskills Training suite and other evidence-based programs in schools and communities, and communicate resources available under COPE to stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Serve as a liaison for training teachers and ordering materials to implement Botvin LifeSkills curricula in school.
2. Collect Botvin fidelity checklists from teachers.
3. Conduct fidelity checks in classrooms with teachers.
4. Offer support for implementation of Botvin curricula to teachers when needed and able.
5. Market the Botvin Parent Program in communities in the assigned VCE district/region.
6. Teach and/or coordinate implementation of the Botvin Parent Program.
7. Teach and/or coordinate community presentations related to Adverse Childhood Experiences.
8. Market YMHFA to schools and other youth-serving organizations, and coordinate classes with local providers or the VCE instructor network.
9. Market MHFA in communities in the assigned VCE district/region.
10. Teach and/or coordinate implementation of MHFA in communities in the assigned VCE district/region
11. Support local coalitions in the assigned VCE district/service region; attend meetings when possible and market resources available through COPE.
12. Maintain a database for formative, process and outcome evaluation.
13. Relay needs for ordering materials and coordinating program activities to the COPE Program Coordinator/Evaluator.
14. Attend weekly COPE meetings (virtual).

This is a part-time position. The coordinator will clock in for hours worked, up to 20 hours per week. Hourly rate will be commensurate with training and experience.

This position will require travel within the assigned VCE district/region assigned and may require some office hours at a VCE office (to be determined). Mileage and other approved travel costs will be reimbursed.

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in community health, public health or related field
• Experience working with communities and stakeholders in community-based projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree, training or experience in community health, public health or related field
• Experience in project management
• Lived and/or professional experience related to substance misuse and addiction
