Academic General Faculty, Data Analytics and Decision Sciences (DADS)

The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for an Academic General Faculty (AGF, non-tenure track) in DADS, beginning in the fall of 2026.

The DADS area at Darden specializes in influential academic and practitioner-oriented research, and teaching excellence. There is broad latitude with respect to specific area of research interest. The area offers a variety of required and elective courses to residential and executive MBA students, including a concentration in Data Analytics. Topics currently taught include decision analysis, data analytics, optimization, data science in business, behavioral decision making, game theory and project management. The area also helps staff a Master of Science in Business Analytics program. DADS faculty also teach actively in Darden’s non-degree Executive Education programs.

Qualifications

Applicants should generally have a PhD in Decision Sciences, Data Science, Management Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or related areas by the date of appointment. AGF applicants are expected to bring something distinctive to the School, such as outstanding teaching, high visibility and effectiveness in working with practicing managers and executives, or a particularly noteworthy research niche. The primary responsibilities would be teaching and developing curricular materials. AGF applicants typically bring a distinctive competency to the School without necessarily being expected to engage in the breadth of contribution of a tenured or tenure-track faculty.
