Hiring Range: Adjunct faculty are paid a per credit hour rate. The per credit hour rate is determined by the assigned rank and discipline taught. Assigned rank is determined by both education and teaching experience.

Additional Detail

• Teach specific classes in the designated discipline.
• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials.
• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization.

• Adept knowledge of instructional technologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population.

• Master’s degree in architecture, architecture or construction technology OR master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in architecture. Qualifying academic degrees and coursework must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution.
• A minimum of two years of full-time, related occupational experience. Part-time occupational experience will be converted to its full-time equivalent.

• Adept knowledge and experience teaching with a learning management system such as Blackboard/Canvas.
• Prior experience at the community college level teaching Architecture
