The Department of Accounting in the School of Business at Virginia Commonwealth University is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty applicants for the 2022-2023 academic year. This pool will be accessed only when an opening arises. This posting will remain active until June 30, 2023. After June 30, 2023, you will need to reapply to the updated posting if you would like to remain in the adjunct pool.
The Department offers a full range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Accounting, including a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in Accounting. Both the School of Business and the Accounting program are AACSB accredited.
Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching Information Systems courses in the Bachelor of Science Program in the Department of Accounting.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must hold a M. Acc. Degree, or an MBA degree.
Excellent oral and written English language skills.
The applicant should demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or the commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications: CISA certification.
10 years of IT Audit experience is preferred and Risk Assessment experience is preferred.
Candidates should provide evidence of (1) recent experience teaching undergraduate Accounting courses (although not required), (2) experience in Accounting Information Systems, (3) experience as an IT Auditor (although not required), and (4) experience connecting with the business community to facilitate connections that will be required to identify guest speakers for classroom presentations.
