Job Description
The Waldron College of Health and Human Services, Department of Public Health and Healthcare Leadership at Radford University welcomes applications for adjunct faculty to teach in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The department currently offers six academic programs: 1) B.S. in Healthcare Administration, 2) B.S. in Health Sciences, 3) B.S. in Public Health, 4) Master of Healthcare Administration, 5) M.S. in Health Sciences with a Clinical Research Administration concentration, and 6) Doctor of Health Sciences with concentrations in Administration, Community and Public Health, or Higher Education. A Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research, a newly proposed Advanced Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education, and degree completion, dual-degree, accelerated track options are part of the department portfolio.
Adjunct faculty will teach synchronous online courses. Current areas of teaching need include: Quantitative Research Methods, Clinical Research Administration, Health Analytics, Health Information Systems, Healthcare Law and Ethics, Population Health, and Public Health Biostatistics.
Required Qualifications
Adjunct faculty must hold an advanced degree or equivalent credentials based on experience consistent with accreditation criteria of the discipline and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
All faculty must have at least a Master’s degree in the field/discipline in which they are teaching with 18 hours of course work related to the course(s) being taught. In some cases, subject to the approval by the Provost, a faculty member could be recommended for appointment based on substitution of significant experience for the degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous online teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Professional experience in healthcare administration, health sciences, or public health.
Knowledge of the Joint Task Force Core Competency Framework for the Clinical Research Professional, Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) or Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) competencies.
Credentialing with the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) or Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA), or active status as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives® (FACHE) or a Master-Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES®/CHES®).

If the applicant’s official transcripts are on file in the Office of the Provost, a statement indicating such, may be submitted in lieu of the documents with the application. Official transcripts of all post-secondary course work will be required upon selection for hire.
Adjunct instructors must attend a scheduled adjunct orientation as offered upon appointment. Orientation date and time will be announced.
