Job Duties
The Department of Technology at Norfolk State University seeks candidates for an Adjunct faculty position in Architecture Drafting Technology, beginning August 2023, The Department is fully accredited by the Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE). The Department offers an Associate in Science degree in Architectural Drafting and the Bachelor’ s in Science degree in Construction Management Engineering Technology; Computer Engineering Technology; and Electronics Engineering Technology.

The successful candidate will:
1. Teach a variety of courses, including materials of construction, methods of construction; architectural drafting; AutoCAD, building codes and specification; problem analysis and planning; organization and supervision of construction; cost estimates; structural planning and design; construction supervision; and construction and project management, surveying.
2. Contribute to program and curriculum development.
3. Advise/mentor students and participate in recruitment activities.
4. Demonstrate self-motivation to engage with industry on applied research projects.
5. Participate in ongoing assessment and accreditation activities.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by department chair.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Have a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Civil
Engineering, or closely related field.
2. Have a M.S. degree Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering
with Construction Management concentration, or closely related field.
3. Demonstrable track record of successful teaching and scholarship.
4. Possess good communication skills; and have a strong commitment to teaching excellence
and proven ability to work collaboratively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience in teaching on the higher education level and ABET accreditation experience.
2. Experience with Blackboard technology
3. Have at least three years of relevant industrial experience.
