Position Overview
The Honors College seeks applications to fill a 1-credit undergraduate course, HONR 150 - Flourishing for Fall and Spring semesters. This course is designed to teach Honors College freshmen to use evidence based principles and practices of positive psychology to enhance personal well-being. Position duties include: • Facilitate the course objectives • Meet all designated course instruction guidelines • Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided • Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours • Submit final grades according to College/Department policy
Required Qualifications
•Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
•A master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours of coursework in psychology, counseling, education, behavioral health, student affairs, student development, or a related field demonstrating specialized knowledge in the emotional, motivational and development needs of college students
Preferred Qualifications
•Ph.D. Prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level
