Longwood University's Department of English and Modern Languages is seeking candidates for part-time faculty to teach in its English program during the 2024-25 academic year.

The successful candidate will embrace the opportunity to work closely with students. Professional responsibilities include teaching freshman composition courses and other courses if needed by the department. Class size is 18 for freshman composition courses. Salary is $3,925 per three-credit course.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum requirement of 18 hours of graduate credit in English; MA in English preferred.
• Candidates should have experience, training, or coursework in composition pedagogy and demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Additional Information:

This position is a part-time, exempt, instructional faculty position. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits do not accompany this position. A successful criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
