Position Summary and Responsibilities:
The Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences is recruiting an adjunct faculty member to teach Clinical Chemistry/Instrumentation II and Analytical Technique in Spectrometry courses (CLLS 312, CLLS 611, and related topics in team taught courses CLLS 201). This equates to a total of 7.0 credit hours/9 total contact hours per week.
Required Qualifications:
Generalist certification (MT/MLS).
MS degree.
Ability to communicate effectively including the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maneuver in the laboratory between lab benches and instruments.
Ability to work accurately and safely under stress, adapt easily to changing environments and prioritize tasks.
Must demonstrate integrity, responsibility, tolerance and respect.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience preferred.
Work experience in clinical chemistry preferred.
