Job Duties
VMI is accepting applications for a full-time administrative assistant for the Department of International Studies and Political Science.
Job Duties: Performs a variety of administrative support duties for the Department and National Security Minor program, requiring well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills. Ensures optimum efficiency and accuracy of office operations. Assists in maintaining student records, organizing faculty and student meetings, planning events, preparing and filing departmental correspondence, submitting textbook orders, preparing travel forms, arranging travel, filing reimbursement requests, managing records and budgets, scheduling, collecting data, maintaining inventories, and other responsibilities defined by the department head.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have excellent written and oral communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other proprietary software; and administrative office experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Detail and action orientation; organized and effective in time management.
