Job Description
The Department of Geospatial and Earth Sciences invites applicants for an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative, secretarial and fiscal support to the chairs and faculty of the named departments and institute and/or others as assigned, and to provide occasional support as needed to other departments of ACSAT as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and equipment. Experience providing administrative and/or programmatic support. Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and web-based programs. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience working with diverse populations. Demonstrated experience planning, prioritizing and organizing multiple concurrent assignments, tasks, and projects with changing priorities. Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. High School diploma or equivalent training, education, licensure/certification or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a university setting using the student systems database (such as Banner), automated personnel administration (such as FLAC and PeopleAdmin), electronic purchasing systems (such as eVA) and travel software (Chrome River). Knowledge of state and university policies and procedures. Demonstrated experience with coordinating and scheduling meetings, conferences, and travel arrangements. Demonstrated web design experience. Experience in higher education student services or academic affairs environment preferred.
