Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant for Student Counseling Services (SCS)/ Substance Abuse and Violence Education Support Services (SAVES) serves as the first point of contact and manages receptionist duties for all callers, visitors, and clients. The Administrative Assistant will schedule all client visits with counseling and other staff using Titanium, Outlook, and/or other scheduling software. Assist the Office Manager in preparing reports, agendas, minutes, and presentations. Maintain the office supply inventory. Assist clients in crisis as needed and in a confidential manner. Responsibility for creating and maintaining the accuracy of the website, social media, and all marketing materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience providing administrative support in a professional office setting.
Demonstrated experience working independently with frequent interruptions.
Experience prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines with frequent interruptions while maintaining the ability to be organized.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Ability to treat all people equitably with a sensitivity to and awareness of cultural differences.
Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
Experience handling sensitive/ confidential information.
Proven computer skills with proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Considerations:

Previous work experience in higher education.
Working knowledge of Radford University and/or Commonwealth of Virginia policies and procedures.
Experience working in a mental health, health care, setting with working knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA.
Experience working with individuals experiencing a crisis. Experience with electronic health records (EHRs).
Experience using website editing tools, Canva, and social media platforms.
