Job Description:

Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reynolds is seeking adjunct instructors to teach American Sign Language on campus. This is a part-time adjunct teaching faculty-ranked appointment. Salary commensurate with the experience of the applicant, in graduate education in the field, related full-time occupational employment, and full-time equivalent teaching.

• Minimum of two years full-time ASL&IE post-secondary teaching experience (or equivalent)
• Proven ability to routinely incorporate technology into instruction and faculty responsibilities
• Proficient in using Canvas (LMS) for online course development and teaching
• Documented training and experience teaching via Zoom
• Documented training in online instructional pedagogy
• Native or native-like ASL fluency (e.g., SLPI: ASL Advanced Plus or Superior; ASLPI 4 or higher)
• Valid ASLTA Certification
• Proven ability to communicate and work effectively with multicultural populations, supporting diversity, cultural understanding, and inclusion
• Skilled in using a personal computer and current Microsoft Office programs
