Job Duties
The Department of General Services is seeking an Application Developer for the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS) within DGS. This position includes working with a dynamic team of IT professionals. The candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced public health environment & manage multiple project deadlines and priorities. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of relational databases and experience interfacing with Web and Data Exchange interfaces. Problem solving, troubleshooting and debugging skills are very important to this role. To be successful, the incumbent must learn the agency’s business, establish a strong working relationship with the technical staff and support assigned business units with their technology needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to work with the BA/QA team, users, and other technical staff, to ensure all goals, objectives, milestones, and project deadlines are met.
· Experience in REST and/or SOAP web services is required.
· Experience with Oracle SQL/PLSQL or SQL Server/TSQL programming is required.
· Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server databases and tools to query, parse, load, and/or extract data from core systems.
· Ability to code, test, document and implement complex web and data exchange interfaces using .NET technologies.
· Knowledge of development best practices and patterns along with coding techniques to prevent security vulnerabilities.
· Ability to design and document logical data structures and data flows and to develop entity relationship diagrams & data flow diagrams.
· Degree in Information Systems is preferred or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Public Health domain preferred.
· Knowledge of Devops.
· Experience with Agile or Scrum SDLC methodologies.
· Experience in using version control tools such as GIT, and issue tracking software.
· Experience in Object Oriented design including use case driven/iterative development is preferred
· System integration testing experience is preferred.
· Experience with .NET 4.5, CORE and Angular is preferred
· Knowledge of Crystal Reports is preferred.
· Knowledge of barcoding and scanning devices, specific to the Code 3 of 9 fonts.
