The Department of Neurology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine seeks applicants for a tenure-eligible, tenure-ineligible, or tenured faculty position in the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Division.

Responsibilities include participation in clinical activities, clinical trials, and associated teaching activities in the Movement Disorders Clinic. Applicants with an interest in establishing, or demonstrated ability sustaining, an effective extramurally funded, and independent research program are encouraged. Rank and tenure status are dependent on qualifications, experience and scholarly achievement.

The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Division at the University is an interdisciplinary team of movement disorders neurologists, a dedicated nurse practitioner, research coordinators, and collaborating neurosurgeon and neuropsychologists.There is also a vibrant, two year clinical fellowship program that attracts top graduating residents each year. The University of Virginia is located in historic Charlottesville, a setting with natural beauty in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains a short distance from Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and the coast. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
