This leadership opportunity combines direct clinical influence with operational oversight, allowing you to shape both the patient experience and the future of a growing oncology service line.

As the Assistant Nurse Manager for the Oncology Infusion Center, you will partner with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to support daily operations, mentor staff, advance quality initiatives, and ensure the delivery of exceptional outpatient oncology care. This role is ideal for an experienced oncology nurse who is ready to expand their leadership footprint while remaining closely connected to patients, caregivers, and frontline clinical teams.

The Role

The Oncology Infusion Center provides a broad range of outpatient infusion therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood product administration, hydration therapies, supportive medications, and other specialized treatments. As Assistant Nurse Manager, you will serve as a key operational and clinical leader, helping ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care while supporting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

In this role, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager, physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, and nursing staff to support daily operations, remove barriers to care, and foster a positive, engaged work environment.

On a typical day, you will:

  • Provide day-to-day operational and clinical leadership for a busy Oncology Infusion Center.
  • Support staffing, scheduling, patient flow coordination, and daily department operations.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for nurses managing complex oncology and infusion patients.
  • Assist with chemotherapy administration questions, infusion reactions, and other clinical concerns.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff through education, feedback, and professional development support.
  • Assist with orientation, onboarding, and staff engagement initiatives.
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient satisfaction measures, and clinical outcomes.
  • Lead and support quality improvement and process improvement projects.
  • Promote compliance with oncology, infusion, organizational, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in departmental leadership discussions and strategic planning efforts.
  • Respond to patient concerns and help facilitate timely, professional problem resolution.
  • Maintain clinical competency and provide direct patient care as needed.

This position offers the opportunity to influence staff development, strengthen patient outcomes, and drive meaningful operational improvements while serving as a trusted resource and mentor for the team.
