Job Description
Tenure-track position at the advanced Assistant or Associate Professor level in the area of Applied Microeconomics with a special interest in development economics, industrial organization and health economics. Responsibilities with a regular appointment include undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, and a strong promise of scholarly research. Instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be in the Economics at Virginia Tech. Continued development of professional capabilities and participation in scholarly activities is a must and includes travel to and participation in professional conferences and societies, as well as participation in department, college, and university service and governance and professional service. Position requires occasional travel to attend conferences and meetings. Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics at time of appointment (anticipated appointment start date is August 10, 2023) - Demonstrated significant scholarship - Demonstrated scholarly expertise in development economics, industrial organization and/or health economics - Demonstrated experience of significant teaching ability - Demonstrated abilities in curriculum development
