The University of Virginia Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is seeking applicants for a fellowship-trained, board-certified or -eligible otologist/neurotologist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. The ideal candidate will have training and expertise to manage the full spectrum of otologic/neurotologic conditions, including inflammatory and neoplastic disorders of the temporal bone, CSF otorrhea, facial nerve disorders, vestibular and balance disorders, and all forms of hearing loss and tinnitus in adults and children. The position includes inpatient and outpatient responsibilities specializing in all aspects of otologic/neurotologic care, while working in a true multi-disciplinary setting with experienced audiology support. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of one Neurotology fellow, resident trainees, and medical students. Preference will be given to applicants with a commitment to academic medicine as evidenced by contributions to the subspecialty of otology/neurotology.
Candidates must have an MD and be board-eligible or board-certified in Neurotology by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. Completion or pending completion of fellowship training in otology/neurotology is required. Evidence of academic productivity is highly valued. Rank and compensation is dependent upon qualifications, experience, and scholarly achievement.
