Assistant Professor - Clinical Faculty, Physical Medicine and Rehab (Inpatient)

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible Assistant Professor position on the Clinical Faculty track. This primary inpatient position will emphasize care/management of patients during the acute/rehabilitation, subacute, and chronic phases of care in the UVA Encompass Health Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital (UVA-EH). In addition the candidate will supervise/teach residents and will provide night and weekend call coverage UVA-EH on a rotational basis.

This position will remain open until filled. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. A completed pre-employment health and drug screening is required for this position.

Qualifications

An MD or DO is required, as is board-certification or board-eligibility by the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. The incumbent must be committed to a career in academic medicine and interested in combining clinical practice with resident education and/or research.
