Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a term (non-tenure track) faculty position. This nine-month position is at the rank of Assistant Professor. The expected appointment date is August 16, 2023.

Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have undergraduate teaching experience, especially in classes focused on clinical topics, such as psychopathology, helping relationships, or treatments, including treatment of addiction. Although undergraduate teaching will be a primary focus for the position, candidates with experience in graduate teaching such as clinical interviewing skills or clinical supervision also will be viewed favorably. In addition to the above-mentioned teaching activities, the faculty members will participate in service activities equivalent to about 15-20% of their time. There is no required research effort for the position.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will be required to have a Ph.D. from an APA-accredited Clinical or Counseling Psychology program and be licensed or license-eligible as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Demonstrated experience working in and with a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a successful record of teaching and working with diverse students, including underrepresented minority students and other underserved population.
