Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications for a term (non-tenure track) Faculty position. This nine-month position is at the rank of Assistant Professor. The expected appointment date is August 16, 2023.

Position Responsibilities: The successful candidate will have undergraduate teaching experience in the broad area of developmental psychology, especially including courses such as lifespan development, adolescent development, or adult development. Expertise in teaching research methodology or statistics is a secondary area of preference. In addition to the above-mentioned teaching activities, the faculty member will participate in service activities equivalent to about 15-20% of their time. There is no required research effort for the position.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will be required to have a Ph.D. in Developmental psychology (or a similar field). Demonstrated experience working in and with a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a successful record of teaching and working with diverse students, including underrepresented minority students and other underserved population.
