The University of Virginia's interdisciplinary program in Global Studies invites applications for a three-year general faculty position at the assistant professor level. Global Studies is an interdisciplinary undergraduate program with concentrations in development, public health, security and justice, environments and sustainability, and commerce. We seek people from all disciplines who can teach courses of relevance across two or more of these concentrations, drawing on their research and teaching experience in such broad topics as: political economy; human rights and peace and conflict studies; sustainable development; climate change and environmental justice; immigration, forced migration, and refugees; race, gender, indigeneity and social justice. Candidates should hold a PhD or appropriate terminal degree by time of appointment.
This position will remain open until filled; review of applications will begin on December 22, 2022. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment.

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
