Job Description
Tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in the area of Microeconomics with a special interest in behavioral economics, decision theory and network theory. Responsibilities with a regular appointment include undergraduate and graduate teaching, curriculum development, and a strong promise of scholarly research. Instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels will be in the Economics Department at Virginia Tech. Continued development of professional capabilities and participation in scholarly activities is a must and includes travel to and participation in professional conferences and societies, as well as participation in department, college, and university service and governance and professional service. Position requires occasional travel to attend conferences and meetings. Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics at time of appointment (anticipated appointment date is August 10, 2023)
- Promise of significant scholarship
- Demonstrated ability to teach, or promise of significant teaching ability
- Demonstrated or promise of significant work in curriculum development
- Demonstrated scholarly expertise in decision theory, behavioral economics and/or network theory
