Job Description:
The Department of Education and Counseling invites applications for two full-time, tenure-track positions (#F0099 and #F0119) at the rank of Assistant Professor in Education to begin August 2023.
The Department of Education and Counseling in the College of Education, Health, and Human Services at Longwood University seeks candidates with a strong commitment to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching. Professional responsibilities include teaching 12 credit hours per semester of undergraduate courses. In addition to the primary responsibility of innovative undergraduate teaching, faculty are also expected to advise students in the major, engage in scholarship and professional activity, including undergraduate research, and participate in service at the department and University level.

Required qualifications:
Ph.D. or Ed.D in Education ABD candidates must have an expected completion date by August 2023 for preferred consideration.
Current teaching license (or eligible for teaching license)
Three or more years of experience teaching in an elementary and/or middle school setting
Interest and willingness to be actively involved in the delivery of instruction and supervision through off-campus partnerships with local school divisions
Evidence of commitment to culturally responsive work with diverse students
Evidence of the ability to address social justice and advocacy within a university, school, or community setting
Evidence of a demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of the University mission.
Preferred qualifications:
Evidence of scholarship in the form of research and/or presentations at the local, regional, state, or national level
Evidence of demonstrated college teaching ability

These are full-time, tenure-track instructional faculty positions. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. Commonwealth of Virginia benefits accompany this position.
