Job Description: The Department of Management and Marketing in the College of Business and Economics is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor (F0074) beginning in August 2026.
The AACSB-accredited College of Business and Economics offers an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in seven disciplines, including Management, as well as a fully online MBA program.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated emphasis in teaching and research related to the field of management. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to excellence in education through high-quality teaching, scholarly research in accord with accreditation guidelines, and service to the department, college, university, and community.
This position is located in Farmville, Virginia, and is required to work in person on Longwood University's campus.
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Management or a closely related field is required. Candidates who are ABD may also be considered with a confirmed final dissertation defense and Ph.D. degree attainment date by August 2026.
- Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability and flexibility to teach a broad array of undergraduate-level and masters-level management subjects.
- The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a program of research output sufficient to meet AACSB scholarly academic (SA) status requirements.
- A strong commitment to high-quality, student-centered instruction; an interest in active and collaborative learning and the effective use of instructional technology; and enthusiasm for contributing to a multidisciplinary and collegial academic environment are preferred.
- Evidence of the ability and commitment to work effectively with diverse students, faculty, staff, and community members in support of the university's mission is also preferred.
Additional Information:This position is a full-time, tenure-track instructional faculty position. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. A successful fingerprint-based criminal background investigation is required. AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.
