Job Duties
Virginia Military Institute Athletics, an NCAA Division I member and member of the Southern Conference is seeking an Assistant Wrestling Coach.
The successful candidate will:
• Assist in organizing and directing all phases of the Wrestling Program.
• Recruit and evaluate potential student-athletes.
• Coordinate team travel arrangements.
• Design and implement training programs focused on athlete development, injury prevention, and performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with coaching staff, athletic department, and VMI administration to support student-athlete academic progress and personal development
• Perform administrative duties and other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Ensure compliance with VMI, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree as well as coaching experience. Must posses a valid drivers license
• Demonstrated success in training, mentoring, and developing student-athletes Proven track record in recruiting and retaining quality student-athletes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to working with staff and administrators
