This role is responsible for developing and implementing policies and practices, ensuring data quality and accessibility, managing processes and improvements, reporting, providing tactical solutions and capitalizing on the full features and benefits of our systems.
Job Description:
Data quality and accessibility:
Establish consistent, accurate and efficient data collection and maintenance practices.
Develops and manages efficient systems for data cleansing, prospect research, and relationship management
Ensure that key data integrates between key systems including the CRM, Student Information System, and partner systems.
Ensure data integrity within and between all systems.
Assess how data storage decisions and implementation of new software or functions affect all users across all systems.
Provide reliable data and reports to support decision making.
Supervise team responsible for maintaining and updating data in the systems.
Designs and implements database queries and data exports to analyze giving trends and outcomes for the department
Maintains and updates data definitions and database for consistency and adherence to standards
Troubleshoots issues and manages updates and/or upgrades related to the database
Assists with other departmental and institutional projects as needed
Procedures, Process, and Improvements:
Create and implement procedures and practices to support key performance indicators throughout the admissions recruitment cycle.
Make recommendations for new processes, software and upgrades when necessary.
Oversee and maintain documentation of processes.
Ensure staff are cross-trained to support continuity of operations at all times.
Maintains policies and procedures manuals for data entry and ensures compliance across staff, training users on proper data input and extraction; provides database support to the team
Identify and implement process improvements to meet goals and support initiatives.
Ensure that the database and other software is up to date and functioning appropriately to achieve goals.
Produces and oversees the integrity of mailing lists for the department's direct mail campaigns.
Requirements:
5 years' experience in database management or similar role
Demonstrated record of success in improving processes to meet goals
Collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style. Enjoys strategic thinking as well as rolling- up one's sleeves.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of database technologies
Demonstrated success working directly with internal stakeholders to understand their needs to administer and enhance the systems accordingly.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments with critical deadlines
Experience in higher education or non-profit organization preferred
Demonstrated business acumen:
Ability to determine why data is being collected.
How to best use the database and data to achieve the goals and objectives.
Interpret problems, identify and implement optimal database solutions to achieve goals and objectives.
