Basu Lab Research Nurse PRN (Staff Wage)

Division of Endocrinology is seeking Registered Nurses to work on a PRN basis for the program related to diabetes translational research for Drs. Andy and Rita Basu. This position requires knowledge of study research procedures and protocols in an inpatient setting. Shifts include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday. Shifts are scheduled according to the needs of the study. Employees will report on an as-needed (PRN) basis, no more than 20 hours per week. Qualified candidates must be a licensed RN. Candidates must also be skilled in the placement of IVs and blood withdrawal, as well as having a CPR certification and at least one year of work experience as a RN. This part-time wage position is restricted and contingent upon the continuation of funding.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's of Science degree or Associate's Degree in Nursing & Diploma in Nursing
Experience: One year of work experience as an RN.
Licensure: Registered Nursing license and CPR certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling (distance: 1 - 2 miles/day), climbing (ladder, steps) and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs.

This position may be exposed to electric current while working on electronic equipment, exposed to extreme temperatures in steam tunnels and required to stand on different surfaces.
