The University of Virginia's Department of Facilities Management has an exciting opportunity for a Budget Analyst who is responsible for the budgeting and financial analysis and support for the Energy and Utilities division. A successful candidate will possess excellent critical thinking and analytical skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills. The candidate must be willing to challenge current processes and work with others to implement efficiencies.
Duties Include:
Develop the annual utility commodity rates and operating budget and labor rates for the Energy and Utilities division of Facilities Management
Maintain all budgets within UVA’s budgetary tool, Adaptive Insights, including updating working budgets with the most recent financial projections
Compile data and prepare reports for routine and ad-hoc reporting needs
Advise the Energy & Utilities division on budgetary implications for projected changes in revenues or expenses
Coordinate the financial review of the monthly utility billings, working closely with FM’s Operations and Technology teams as well as UVA customers.
Guide, train, and provide analytical support to the FM Financial Operations team on budget details to ensure transactions are recorded with the correct worktags
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
Minimum of two years of professional experience in budget analysis, project reconciliation, and financial management or accounting. Internship experience may apply.
Compensation:
The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $58,000 - $68,000 . This is a full-time position with UVA benefits . Employee benefits package highlights include:
