Job Description
Responsibilities fall under two general categories: budget and human resources. Budgetary responsibilities include budget tracking, maintenance, transfers, reconciliation, travel reimbursement, procurement and accounts payable transactions, and the processing of requests for supplies, software licenses, instructional and research materials, furniture, equipment, computer hardware and software, repairs to equipment, and research purchases. Human resource responsibilities include maintaining payroll, creating job postings and appointments, maintaining confidential faculty/staff personnel files, and the initiation and completion of all personnel transactions.
Required Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support in a professional environment; working knowledge of office practices, procedures, and budgetary processes; working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and Zoom; demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, effective communication skills, use of independent judgment, performance of coordinative tasks; strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of various software applications used at Virginia Tech (or similar applications) such as Banner, HokieMart, PageUp, and Chromeriver.
