Job Duties

Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly-ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.

RBC is currently seeking part-time Campus Security Officers.

Campus Security Officers will be a uniformed presence on campus to promote lawful behavior and protect the safety of students, faculty and staff, and visitors of the Richard Bland College in a professional courteous manner. Perform physical security of assigned building by controlling building access, registering/logging in guests, monitoring security cameras, patrolling building and parking lots, reporting any safety hazards, reporting suspicious and criminal activity to campus police, and enforcing Richard Bland College and the Department of Campus Safety and Police policies and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

***All qualifications must be clearly reflected in your application and/or resume and supported by verifiable work experience.***

~Be a US citizen or legal resident
~Possess a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
~Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment
~Possess valid driver’s license at the time of appointment
~Demonstrated ability to utilize a personal computer using current software programs and telecommunications equipment including fire alarm systems, security alarm systems, video surveillance system, and other security equipment

Additional Considerations

~Current First Aid, CPR and AED training certification.
~Completed Incident Command System for Higher Education (IS-100) course by FEMA.
~Demonstrated experience, qualities and capabilities in leadership
