Job Duties
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center is seeking Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) to work a schedule shift of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm-11:30 pm or 11:00 pm – 7:30 am and every other weekend. The CNA is responsible for providing direct care to residents by assisting residents with ADL’s and for maintaining the quality of services to the veteran residents.
Duties: Provides each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record; documenting all care appropriately. Makes rounds regularly and answer call lights promptly and responds courteously. Monitors and observes residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status and reports changes to Charge Nurse.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license. Applicants must also have excellent knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL’s); ability to carry out the responsibilities of the position; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with others; and possess the physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a long term care or adult geriatric setting.

Current Virginia CNA license is required – candidates without a current license will not be called for an interview.
