The University of Virginia's Department of Student Health and Wellness is seeking a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Certified Nursing Assistants assist with caring for patients.
The CNA is part of a team and establishes priorities by collaborating with other team members. The CNA follows protocols for obtaining vital signs and performing simple procedures and receives formal supervision from the Director of Nursing Services.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing patients for appointments (obtaining vital signs and entering into EMR);
Maintaining clinic flow;
Assisting staff with procedures (EKGs, ear irrigations, collecting lab specimens);
Ensuring patient safety;
Maintaining infections control standards;
Preparing patients for discharge and home care (crutches, patient teaching, follow-up appointments, transportation);
Maintaining unit supplies and equipment.
Other tasks as assigned.
In the event of an emergency the CNA may be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
The salary range for this position is $19.00-$21.00 per hour. This is an overtime eligible position with UVa benefits. Employees benefits package highlights include:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma Experience: At least one year of experience as a CNA. Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification and CPR certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
On feet seeing patients and significant movement.
