About the Position:
The Virginia State Police (VSP) is seeking to hire a Classification and Compensation Analyst Senior in our Human Resources Division at our Administrative Headquarters in North Chesterfield, Virginia. The successful candidate will conduct routine to complex single position compensation and classification evaluations and analyses of civilian positions for the establishment of new positions and/or for the review of existing positions; lead large scale classification and compensation studies; review Personnel Transaction Worksheets (PAWs) and determine compensation for the employment process; serve as a project lead on Agency classification and compensation studies and projects; and provide assistance with human resources activities, projects, and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
•Considerable knowledge of human resource policies, procedures, principles, laws, and regulations; of compensation methods and job evaluation principles; and of qualitative and quantitative research methods. •Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of broad-based compensation principles, and practices. •Skill in operating computers and using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). •Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply human resource policies, procedures, laws and regulations; to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, analyzing classification and compensation data; to prepare written documents and reports; to prepare and conduct human resource training; to exercise good judgment, discretion and confidentiality; to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with diverse individuals and groups; to work independently and as a member of a team; and to prioritize work and use initiative to accomplish projects. •Progressively responsible experience in determining position classification and employee compensation. •Understanding and application of the Freedom of Information Act and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). •Progressively responsible human resource experience is required. •High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional Considerations
•Experience working as a Project Lead is preferred.
