Help us grow our team to improve access to behavioral health services! The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical track faculty psychologist in Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health to provide clinical services and education in our new outpatient Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health clinic. The psychologist will work in a new interprofessional outpatient clinic with psychology, developmental and behavioral pediatrics, integrative medicine, and psychiatry. As part of the larger UVA Health Children’s system, the clinic serves all children regardless of insurance status and language preference.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Outpatient mental and behavioral health assessment and intervention for youth and families at the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioral Health clinic
  • Providing consultation to medical and interprofessional teams
  • Teaching medical fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Participation on departmental and health system committees

The Department of Pediatrics, University of Virginia, UVA Health Children’s, and UVA Pediatric Psychology are extremely collegial and collaborative environments. Candidates also must possess a PhD/PsyD or equivalent from an APA-accredited program, have completed an APA-accredited internship, be licensed or license-eligible in Virginia, and be skilled in interprofessional practice in a complex, academic medical environment. The new faculty member will be expected to obtain board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology once eligible.

Pediatric Psychology and Behavioral Health provides clinical service for the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children’s Hospital. The Section currently is comprised of eleven pediatric and clinical child psychologists and is rapidly expanding. The psychologists work closely with pediatrician colleagues, fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, and multi-disciplined allied health staff. Our clinical child and pediatric psychologists and developmental and integrative health colleagues have outstanding working relationships with providers in the community as well as with other pediatric subspecialists and colleagues in other areas of the UVA Health System.
