Clinical Instructor - Regional Fellow

The Department of Anesthesiology, at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks candidates for a tenure-ineligible clinical Instructor position for the July, 2022-June, 2023 recruitment year . This one-year post-graduate regional program is designed to give advanced clinical, technical, and research training in the field of regional anesthesia. This training opportunity is held in one of the premier academic communities in the country. Locations will include the University of Virginia Medical Center and the Outpatient Surgical Center. The University of Virginia performs more than 5,000 peripheral nerve blocks and catheters annually. Clinical work will be comprised of 80% fellow and 20% faculty position. Additional time will be allocated to research endeavors and conference attendance. In addition, you will be eligible to participate in our quarterly incentive program which is a payment for covering Friday or Saturday night call or the Saturday elective schedule.

Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and have completed a residency in Anesthesiology. The UVA Medical Center ranks in the top 100 hospitals in the country according to US News and World Report, and it is recognized as one of the "best benchmark hospitals."

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Candidates must have an MD or equivalent and have completed a residency in Anesthesiology.

Licensure: Candidates must be board certified or board eligible

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/walking (distance: 1 - 2 miles/day)
