The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia is seeking one highly motivated individual to serve as a Clinical Research Coordinator (2 , 3, or 4), Non-Licensed.

The incumbent for this position would join the Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging as a Departmental research coordinator. This position would afford the opportunity to work on a variety of research studies focused upon medical imaging. The Department has a thriving research environment that supports cutting edge research, inclusive of advancing new tools for medical imaging, designing new molecular-based imaging methods for diagnosis and treatment, and using advanced artificial intelligence-based techniques for the next generation of imaging diagnosis. The incumbent will support these research areas by helping to conduct clinical trials in the Department, which includes recruitment, registration, scheduling, and enrollment of participants, as well as data collection and statistical analysis.

The Clinical Research Coordinator, Non-Licensed assists with subject recruitment and enrollment, collects and manages patient and clinical trial data for research projects, and aids in managing regulatory protocols for research studies. The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and for maintaining the highest levels of quality possible.

The successful candidate will have the ability to follow policies and procedures and adhere to regulatory guidelines in daily work. The successful candidate will also have a basic knowledge of clinical research, have the ability to independently research topics, possess a working knowledge of the specific study subject matter, and have knowledge of medical terminology.

In addition, the successful incumbent will demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions and have the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

Qualified candidates must also possess skills in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Clinical Research Coordinator 4, Non-Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.
Experience: At least seven years of clinical research experience demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility and complexity of work. Master’s or other advanced degree may substitute for one year of clinical research experience.

Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is required.

Clinical Research Coordinator 3, Non-Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience required. Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of clinical research experience.
Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is preferred at the time of hire and is required within one year.

Clinical Research Coordinator 2, Non-Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.
Experience: At least one year of clinical research experience. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, psychology or a related science is preferred as well as experience with EPIC and PACS clinical patient systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

This is a restricted position and is dependent upon project need, availability of funding and performance.
