The SOM Clinical Trials Office seeks a dynamic individual in the role of Clinical Research Program Manager. This position provides support, direction, supervision and mentoring to a team of Clinical Research Coordinators (CRCs). The incumbent provides daily management/supervision to the CRCs to promote maximum enrollment, safe participation, exemplary conduct, and generation of accurate and complete substantiated data for the clinical research studies conducted by the SOM Clinical Trials Office CRCs. The incumbent is responsible for guiding the CRCs in the planning, implementation and conduct of all studies conducted by the SOM CTO and will ensure all study activities conducted by the team are in full compliance with federal, state, local and institutional regulations, policies, and procedures. The incumbent, in collaboration with the SOM CTO leadership, is responsible for developing the program, developing policies and procedures to support the program, and promoting the program to departments/divisions within the SOM.
Candidate must have the ability to build, lead, motivate, and assess a professional team; to competently manage complex and multi-faceted projects; interact with investigators and ancillary personnel as well as research committees and outside sponsor personnel; conduct activities and make decisions according to regulatory and ethical standards, and maintain the confidentiality of research participants. Qualified candidate must have knowledge of clinical research, human subject research ethics, IRB procedures, medical terminology and federal regulations governing clinical research.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
Experience: At least 10 years of clinical research experience demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility including but not limited to: management of research finances, clinical trial portfolio oversight, hiring and training research staff, and performance management. Master’s or other advanced degree may substitute for one year of clinical research experience.
Licensure: Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
