The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks an experienced Clinical Instructor with a background in community/public health nursing for a part-time, tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructor. The start date of this position is the Spring, 2022 semester.

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing, with two years of previous experience in community/public health. Candidates must have or be eligible for RN Licensure in Virginia and will be required to obtain a RN license by the start date of the position. Additionally, we are seeking candidates who have experience working with community partners. Previous experience teaching or mentoring in community/public health is strongly preferred. Applicants with certification are strongly encouraged to apply. P reference will be given to applicants with a DNP or PhD in Nursing.
Duties include:
Direct supervision of pre-licensure (BSN and CNL) students (approximately 20 hrs per week) in a community/public health clinical environment and simulation center.
Serve as advisor for a small number of prelicensure students.
Coordinate clinical site placements for prelicensure community/public health placements.
Assist with orienting and mentoring new clinical instructors in community/public health.
This is a part time 26 hour per week, 12-month appointment.
An official offer of employment is contingent on a successful background check and completion of a medical screening as required by the University of Virginia Health System.
