The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks an experienced Clinical Instructor with a background in community/public health nursing for a full time, tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructor. The start date of this position is the January 2023.

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing, with two years of previous experience in community/public health. Candidates must have or be eligible for Licensure in Virginia and will be required to obtain a license by the start date of the position. Additionally, we are seeking candidates who have experience working with community partners. Previous experience teaching or mentoring in community/public health is strongly preferred. Applicants with certification are strongly encouraged to apply. P reference will be given to applicants with a DNP or PhD in Nursing.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Direct supervision of pre-licensure (BSN and CNL) students (approximately 30 hrs per week) in a community/public health clinical environment and simulation center.
Provide informal and formal feedback to students about their clinical performance in a community/public health clinical and simulated environments.
Coordinate clinical site placements for prelicensure community/public health placement (approximately 6 hrs per week)
Assist with orienting and mentoring new clinical instructors in community/public health.
Assist with simulation and other learning activity development and implementation under direction of course faculty and/or program director.
This is a full time, 12-month term limited appointment
