Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
The Coordinator of Library Services ensures that the library's services are functioning effectively so that students, faculty, staff, and the public are provided with appropriate services and assistance. This position provides students access to learning resources in print, audiovisual, and electronic formats, gives assistance in the development of skill necessary to utilize those resources, and assists faculty, staff, and administration with their research needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master of Library Science (ALA Accredited)
Professional and supervisory experience in libraries
Proficient with computer software, cataloging, metadata issues and trends
Familiar with OCLC and AACR2 and database searching methods
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Customer service oriented
Preferred Qualifications:
Academic library experience
General liberal arts background
