Job Description:
Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.

As a key member of the Student Services leadership team, the Coordinator of Student Life at CVCC enhances student success and social interaction beyond the classroom. This role involves collaborating with students, faculty, and staff to develop programs that enrich the college experience, promote diversity and inclusion, and foster student leadership. Responsibilities include organizing student-facing activities, advising the Student Government Association (SGA), and overseeing SGA officer elections. The Coordinator also provides leadership and support to all CVCC social and athletic clubs and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • A combination of related training and experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and coordinate between students and administration.
  • Budget management experience and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to guide and support student leaders.
  • Experience working with entertainment service providers.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Event planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of basic sports rules.
