Job Description: Responsible for planning and teaching American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, and American Red Cross Basic Life Support base-level courses, along with planning and conducting employee training, hiring, and audits.

Starting Pay Rate:$16/hour
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Be familiar with and teach American Red Cross Base-Level Certification Courses in the instructor led and blended learning format
Effectively use course materials and resources, including course presentations, curriculum manuals, course outlines, and the American Red Cross Learning Center
Adapt your teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives
Ensure the health and safety of the participants by making sure all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards and all materials and equipment are safe
Communicate regularly with participants to ensure they are aware of progress
Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans
Complete records and reports in a timely manner
Assist in audits, evaluation, and hiring of RecWell staff
Participate in trainings and other meetings that are required
Create and utilize lesson plans for trainings and meetings
Provide positive and constructive feedback to participants
Additional duties as assigned by the Aquatics & Safety Coordinator
Required Certification(s):
Must have one of the following instructor-level certifications:
American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Instructor
American Red Cross Basic Life Support Instructor
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
Must have at least one of the following base-level:
American Red Cross Basic Life Support
American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer
American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
American Red Cross Lifeguard
Prefered Certification (must obtain within 6 months of hire):
American Red Cross Basic Life Support base-level
