Description of the Job:
The Creative Arts Day Camp Manager performs an array of responsibilities essential to the successful delivery of the program in support of its mission and primary educational function. The camp, which is held in multiple different sessions over the summer, provides opportunities for grade K-9 students to explore a variety of media.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Communicate with parents, (e.g., answering camp phone calls, emails, replying to text messages)
• Update early/late pick-up information to camp administrators
• Assist with drop off/pick up, including check-in and sign-out
• Monitor students physical location (e.g. lunch hour, breaks, hall monitor)
• Create drop off/pick up rosters, classroom rosters, and name tags
• Create volunteer and exhibition schedule
• Other duties as assigned by program directors

All camp managers will be required to complete a background check and applicable training specific to working with minors in a university setting.

Required Qualifications:

• Recent graduate and/or undergraduate art education student
• Appropriate experience and/or strong oral presentation and communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
