Job Duties

Provides leadership to and manages the operations of the court service unit, manages human and capital resources, and ensures the proper application of all pertinent policies and procedures according to departmental, state, local and judicial requirements. Collaborates with local stakeholders, community partners, and the judiciary.

Minimum Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of federal, state, local and public laws and ordinances relating to criminal justice is needed, as well as experience applying the principles/practices of organizational management including personnel, planning, management analysis, and supervision and knowledge of leadership practices. The ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, other agencies, and public officials is also needed. The demonstrated ability to oversee the development, evaluation, and administration of a variety of diverse programs and evidenced based practices within the unit and with other agencies is important. Knowledge of and experience in budgeting and procurement practices, as well as a working knowledge of MS Office programs are essential to the daily operation of the unit.

Preferred Qualifications:

A related degree, extensive supervisory experience in a juvenile court service unit setting, and completion of leadership courses are preferred.
