The University of Virginia School of Nursing Dean’s Office invites applications for the C hief of Staff position. Reporting directly to the Dean, this position will manage the administrative, operational, expenses, and special projects of the Dean in the School of Nursing. The position will perform advanced executive decision support duties including fact finding, research and analysis, preparation of position papers, reports, and presentations, and manage the public face of the office. This position will supervise administrative support professionals within the school.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the administrative, operational, financial affairs, and special projects of the Dean.
  • Manage the Dean’s calendar.
  • Assist with annual budget planning, assessing past expenses and drafting budgets, and preparing routine and special budget requests related to the Dean.
  • Draft internal and external correspondence, executive summaries, and talking points for departmental or unit leadership and other senior administrators.
  • Prepare slides and data for presentations.
  • Represent the executive, acting as liaison with internal and certain external groups, offices, and constituents.
  • Serve as principal departmental contact.
  • Establish internal policies and processes for employees within the Dean’s office.
  • Supervise academic administrative staff (2 FTE), Dean’s office and other staff (2 FTE).
  • In a ddition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: At least five years of relevant experience or Master's degree with at least two years of relevant experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Compensation:

The Anticipated Hiring Range for this position is $80,000 - $90,000. This is a full-time position with UVA benefits . Employee benefits package highlights include:
