Job Duties
This position Deputy Clerk (Grade 8) within the Loudoun County General District Court provides you the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of the day-to-day court operations. You must be committed to provide excellent customer service to a diverse population, enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume office with tight deadlines in a results-oriented team work environment.
This position offers a competitive benefits package, which includes vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays, health insurance, retirement, life insurance, deferred compensation and short- and long-term disability. The County of Loudoun will supplement the state’s pay by 15%.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities –
The Deputy Clerk will perform a wide range of clerical duties including, but not limited to, providing assistance to the public at the :front counter and on the telephone, and assisting the Judge in the Courtroom. Duties will require accepting payments, processing court documents and handling a wide range of clerical task as well as data entry and filing. Must be detailed oriented, highly accurate and excellent at follow-up and juggling multiple tasks. Must be able to explain procedures in a clear and easy to understand manner in person and on the telephone. Experience in handling money is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
High school degree required. SKILLS: detail-oriented, highly accurate, and excellent at follow-up and juggling competing priorities in a fast-paced office. Organizational skills. Ability to explain procedures in a clear and easy to understand manner in person and on the phone. Must be able to do data entry at 40 WPM while answering a multi-line phone system. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: lifting, bending to retrieve files, going up and down stairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
A typing test will be performed at the interview.
